Beck showing me how he doggy paddles

Killian was crying until to go back

Then he was showing me how he could swim

Killian: Daddy, why you got a band aid?
Me: Because I was working on a machine at work and cut my thumb
Killian:  I got an owie
Me:  You do?
Killian:  Yeah, I was working on a machine and got an owie.

Beck: Daddy my shoe is wonky.  Fix it.
Me: Okay.  (Takes Becks shoe off)
Beck:  Whoa Daddy, you have really big shoes.
Me: You will have shoes this big when you get bigger than Daddy
Beck: When I bigger than you, I will lift houses

I'm putting the sand toys into the back of the truck and I hear Beck very distressed
Beck:  Daddy, the baby going to fall off!
(I run around to the other side of the truck looking around for a baby that is about to get hurt)
Beck: (Pointing in the truck) Baby
Me: I don't see a baby
Beck: (Pointing to a diagram on the car seat demonstrating the proper way to buckle a newborn into the car seat)  The baby going to fall off.
I sure felt a lot better after that.  I don't quite understand how that looks like a baby falling off.  Perhaps when I remember I will post a picture of the car seat and everyone can tell me what they think.

Killian:  Daddy you need to feed the alligator
Me:  Okay (reaches into the diaper bag) I found some grape juice for him
Beck:  Daddy...that is bum cream
Killian:  (Makes all kinds of gagging noises) Oh no, alligators don't like bum cream

Killian: Daddy?
Me: Yes Killian
Killian: You need to buy me presents
Me: Why do I need to buy you presents?
Killian: So I poop on the potty
Me: Are you going to buy me presents?
Killian:  Daddy, you don't poop on the potty

Killian and Beck pointing at the Dinosaur movie on TV
Me:  What do they see?
Beck:  They see a very naughty dinosaur

Swimming Lessons

I was able to go watch the boys at their swimming lessons this last week.  It was very interesting to say the least.  Killian does not like to get his face wet.  He loves the water, but gets upset if his face gets wet.  That is a bit hard to avoid at a pool.  So when I got there he was upset and telling his teacher, "I wanna go back to Mommy!".  Beck sat on the side of the pool and cried the first day.  Day two he did really well.  Day three, he kept getting out of the pool anytime him and his teacher got near the stairs.  He was having fun, he just thought that being near the stairs meant the lesson was done for the day.
I did, however, have a want to cry in public moment when I was there.  I have not gone to pick up the boys mid activity yet.  I was very concerned they wouldn't want me to pick them up.  They wouldn't want Madame X and I to be in the same place at the same time.  I worried about nothing, as is par for the course with me.
I have a picture where Beck is looking at me and you can see in his face that he is trying to place the person he is looking at, he just can't quite see me with the camera to my face.  I wish that I could have shot another picture right after that, except I was too busy basking in the moment of my son recognizing who I was, and watching as his face broke into a giant grin.  There was so much white showing in that grin that his smile blocked out the sun I think.  I almost started to cry, and thus, forgot to hit the shutter button again while he was smiling at me.  I walked over with the camera and said, "Can you show Daddy how you swim?"  Beck started to show me how he doggy paddles, but he kept looking at me to make sure I was watching him, and smiling the entire way.  I so absolutely loved it, that I forgot to take a bunch of pictures.  The camera became a giant useless necklace that I was wearing.  Beck in past was so hard for me to connect with, that him smiling at me the entire time was overwhelming to me.  It made my day!
Killian was a bit further from me than Beck was to start.  Killian's teacher had to swim him out to the deep end trying to distract him from wanting to go to his Mommy.  So I walked out to the edge of the pool and yelled "Killian, so me how you can swim!"  His teacher had to put him on his back since he obviously doesn't like water near his face.  Killian was so excited that I was there he kicked half the water out of the pool.  The swim team that was there didn't have enough water left in the pool to practice.  Killian closes his eyes and kicks as hard as he can.  He wouldn't however, show me how he could put his face in the water to blow bubbles.  I did get a picture of Beck attempting to blow bubbles like his teacher.  It is obvious he doesn't quite grasp the concept.  His teachers face is half underwater, and Beck is above water looking like he is trying to whistle.  It was so fun to watch and warmed my heart that both boys were excited to see me and come with me after.  I was getting a complex that the boys never say bye to me at the end of our visits, but they didn't say by to their mother either when we left.  So I guess it's not just me.

Funny conversation of the day.  Killian found a flashlight, and this is what he said...

You push 'dis button for on.  'Dis is what you use to fix tings.  I had it on at  the TV and Beck come up and say what was 'dat.  Beck say maybe it a monster and I say oh dear.

Mom had two bags for them to give to me for my birthday when we arrived.  She handed them to the boys and said go tell Daddy happy birthday.  Beck came over and stood by me, didn't say anything and started to take the tissue paper out of the bag looking for the present.  Killian came over and handed me the bad and said, "Here, I got 'dis for you."

Fun Time had by all

Both boys are so excited to come with me lately, I cannot express the joy I feel inside when I pull up and they are both grinning from ear to ear and practically jumping up and down to get out of the gate.  Saturday we went and fed the ducks.  We had to find a place that did not have any geese.  The boys expressed their lack of desire to go anywhere geese were.  We found a spot that had lots of ducks and no geese.  The boys jumped out of the truck and "fro da bread" to the ducks.  I had no idea we would burn through the bread so quickly.  Killian ate more than he gave to the ducks.  Beck wanted to feed them cheerios.  Grandpa even caught a baby duck for the boys to hold.  Beck wanted nothing to do with the duck.  He became more interested in the buttons on the side of the passenger seat in the truck that move the seat up and down.  It was a very joyous afternoon!

The ducks were waiting for us to get out of the truck.  Didn't even get the door closed.

Proper form when "fro da bread to ducks"

He ate more than he gave to the ducks

Grandpa and Killian coming up with a plan to catch a duck

Beck tried for awhile to make sure each duck got a piece

Killian didn't quite grasp Grandpa's plan to catch a duck.

Beck eventually became more of an observer

Second attempt at the plan

Success

This was as close as Beck got to the duck.

He was so soft with the baby duck.

Killian following Grandpa walking on the lines

It was a play with the trains kinda day

I always have to multi task

My favorite thing to do with Beck

Okay, maybe reading is my second favorite next to wrestling.

Killian decided to take apart every single piece of track

He kept calling me Mommy to be funny.  I would then tickle him as punishment.

Killian loves trucks

"Daddy, I want to build a towa".  So we did.

Spinning in the bucket.

Killian was too dizzy to walk after the spin.

Beck couldn't walk either.

These two love balloons

We blow up the balloon and then watch it zoom away

I asked him what he was making.  He told me "milk".

I asked what they were making, their reply, "crabby patties."

Brushing teeth

This is what happens when you let someone else brush your teeth.
http://youtu.be/GIl8zZbeSM4

I prefer him brushing his own teeth.  Way easier on my mouth.
