Short Changed

Lets start with last Monday since I forgot to post about that.  I walked up the walkway and Killian came out to greet me as he always does, but I could hear Beck yelling NOOO!  I asked Beck if he wanted to go and he said no again and leaned into his Mom.  So I loaded up Killian by himself and we went to play.  Madame X had stated that he not eaten so when we got to my house I told Killian that Daddy needed to make him lunch, but he could go play.  Killian went downstairs and I heard all of this banging.  It sounded like someone was remodeling the basement.  After five minutes of amazingly loud noise Killian came back upstairs and wanted me to hold him while I made lunch.  When we went back downstairs to eat I could not believe the speed at which Killian had destroyed the once organized basement.  Hurricane Killian had touched down and I hadn't even heard the tornado alert going off.  Killian lasted about three hours before he started missing Beck.  So I took him home.  I love being able to spend one on one time with him, but it never lasts long enough.
Today when I started to walk up to the boys house I could already hear Beck saying no!  Madame X greeted me at the door with Beck and he wouldn't look at me.  Killian pushed past him mother in his cowboy hat and came to see me.  I picked Killian up and tried to convince Beck to come with me.  The conversation was a great one..
Me:  Beck do you want to go play with Thomas the train?
Beck: (bored) no.
Me:  How about the car with all the balls in it?
Beck: no.
Me:  Do you want to jump on the mattress and go bouncy bouncy bouncy?
Beck: no.
Me:  Well okay then.

Madame X explained to Beck that Killian was going and if he didn't go with Daddy that he would be home without Killian.  Beck still didn't want to go.  So I packed up Killian cowboy hat and all.  We made it to the Canyon road turn off and Killian started to freak out!  I want Bet (Beck) I want Bet I want Bet.  Crying and weeping and wailing.  I sent Madame X to state Killian was freaking out.  So we turned around and went back home.  Madame X seemed very put out by this.  I really hope that someday she will help them to not be so attached to her or when they start school those poor boys are going to fall apart.  So I dropped Killian off and went shopping for a guitar.  I found some photos that I haven't uploaded before so at least all you readers will have something to look at.  It's a bit hard to take photos of a boy that doesn't want to come, or one that is only around for five minutes.  At least the basement was easy to clean up.

Watching Cars when Beck was sick

Killian could not decide which vantage point Cars looked best from

Still trying to figure it out.  He always has to have his feet on something.

This is the only way he plays with these basketballs.  Beck at least throws them against the wall.

Bee Bee

This is another park in Mapleton.  It is one I often take them to when I'm by myself.  The park is far from the road and nobody goes to this park.  It makes it easier for me to let them explore without worry I will return them damaged to Madame X.

This video was a big step for Beck.  Beck always has had to go down the slide on my lap.  Today he decided to go by himself.  I was shocked and pleased.  Then he was going to catch Killian like I do when he comes down, but changed his mind.

In this video you will hear Beck say "Bee, find him, see 'im, pie cone, nope".  You will hear Killia say okay, pie cone, und-oe (under), see it, I reach it, have it.

Wow!  Talk about a disaster of a visit on Saturday.  The boys are still sick.  Madame X says they are going through the transition of not needing a nap anymore.  I have yet to speak to someone whose twenty-two month old does not take naps.  The boys just don't want to take a nap at ten thirty in the morning.  They want to nap around one or two.  I'm told not to allow them naps by Madame X.  I think she wants them to go to bed early so she can go play without the boys.  But I digress...back to Saturdays disaster.  I picked up the boys in the usual fashion, except this time, when we walked out the gate Beck started crying for his Mommy.  This hasn't happened in awhile.  He cried until I bought him some fries from McDonald's.  I gave them each a fry and started to drive home when Beck shouted, "Daaaaaaady!" I said what buddy.  He then said 'nother one.  I wasn't giving them to him fast enough I guess.  Killian had only consumed about half of his fry.  I would give Beck half the fry container to just sit and eat, but Beck has this bad tendency of throwing whatever he has and saying done when he is finished.  This includes drinks!  I didn't want to be hit in the back of the head while driving with a box full of fries.  It is funny to watch Beck eat fries.  He will take the fry and say, "hot!" And then blow on the fry.  This is the same for a fry that has recently been purchased to a fry that has been sitting on the floor for an hour.
When we got home I took the boys downstairs to play.  Beck was so sick over Christmas that he hadn't really noticed any of the new toys I had bought them.  When Beck walked around the corner he saw the new blocks I bought them stacked up.  His face lit up and he said, "oooohhhhh, new biggie blocks!"  He then ran over to them and knocked them all down.  I thought Beck would then stack them back up and knock them down again.  But he decided to stack them end to end; effectively making a yellow, red, and blue brick road.  The boys then walked up and down the road, and then crawled up and down the road like they were dare devils walking a tight rope.  The twins also were playing on the ride on Thomas the trains I gave hem.  These trains shoot ten balls out the smoke stack when you push a button.  Both boys like to stick their face over the smoke stack and watch the ball hit them in the forehead.  I'm hoping when they get older, this doesn't translate into sticking their face into moving machinery or fireworks.  And that is about where the fun ended.  Don't get me wrong.  I want to spent as much time with the boys even when they are sick, but it is so much more fun when they are happy.
Both boys were very clingy to me, which can be a challenge when they only want to be the one in your arms.  They can get really unhappy if I am holding them both at the same time.  Or Killian wanted me to take him "uh-stes" (upstairs) and Beck at the same time wants me to watch "tactowes" (he is saying tractors, but is referring to Cars).  Beck was so tired I layed him on the bed and had him watch the videos of him and Killian on my phone.  He was almost asleep when Killian came in to throw a tantrum that I wasn't playing with him.  Neither boy wanted anything to do with grandma for some reason.  That made it really tough.  Trying to teach Killian to share is also making things difficult.  Killian is used to taking whatever he wants from Beck and Beck usually just gives it to him and goes and finds something else.  I am not going to let that happen.  It is not a lot of fun when you make Killian share and then he just flings himself on the ground throwing a tantrum.  It makes me want to go to the University of Utah and try and get a refund for him when he does that.
By two thirty both boys were crying and not wanting me to hold the other.  Beck was crying for Mommy.  So I loaded them into the truck and drove up the canyon.  Killian fell asleep in about three seconds.  Beck on the other hand, took forty five minutes to fall asleep.  I was determined to get him to sleep even if it meant burning through sixty dollars in gas.  Poor Killian is still so stuffed up that I could hear him breathing so loudly that I became concerned when I stopped hearing the loud snoring.  I looked back to make sure he wasn't turning blue.  This sadly, was the best time of parent time for me on Saturday.  Driving the canyon and listening to two sick boys snoring in the back seat.  I really thought a nap for them would solve all my problems.  Boy was I wrong.
I guess if I had let Beck sleep for five hours maybe it would have solved the problem.  Killian was a lot happier when he awoke.  Beck on the other hand, made me want to get the refund for him instead of Killian.  He cried and cried for Mommy within about twenty minutes of waking up.  So I loaded them into the truck to take them home.  That was a very long five hours.  I loved seeing my boys, but I felt as old as my father.  That is old enough to have one foot in the grave, and the other on a banana peel.  I hope Monday goes much better.  Not a lot of photo's of Saturday's visit due to me always having a child in arm.

More Mapleton Park

This first video is Killian climbing.  This kid can and will climb everything.  He then will jump to me regardless of it I'm looking, which can get scary at times.  You will hear him say, "I got it."

This game lasted for only a short while.  They found some nuts and placed them where kids stand, and then spun the pole around.

The wind really started to blow, so pardon all the ambient noise through the microphone.

Mapleton Park

So I'm a bit behind in adding the videos.  I will try and catch up if one of you out there will send me a million dollars.  This video is from the fall, taken at Mapleton park.  This is a video that really shows the two distinct personalities that the two boys have.  Killian will jump off the curb and Beck will step down it.  The squeaking you hear is their shoes.  It drove me bonkers.  I have to admit though, Killian went racing away when I wasn't looking and I was able to find him due to his shoes.  Notice in the video how Beck decides to not wear his hat and how well he listens to Grandma about putting it back on.  Killian tries to help his brother out and chases him with the hat.  You will hear Beck say climbing, uppie, no.   You will hear Killian say 'nother one, hat.  The video is almost four minutes long.

Just Killian and Dad for a day

I had a lot of fun just focusing on Killian for a day.  I guess Killian should play football, he always leads with his head.

Killian really likes to watch TV.  I must admit, I really like it when they want to watch TV.  It gives me a rest.

Happy New Year

So I had both really sick boys on Friday.  I held Beck the entire time they were there and I loved every minute of it.  He would sleep, wake up crying.  Then he would want a sip of sprite and go right back to sleep.  He filled his diaper twice, and I have to say, I really do not miss that at all!  So Beck slept most of it and Killian watched Cars most of the time.  The lack of activity makes it hard to write a lot in the blog.
On Saturday when I went to pick up the boys, I got there and Madame X let me know that Beck was inside and didn't want to come, but Killian wanted to go.  So we decided to split the twins up for the first time and see how that would go.  I must say, anyone who complains about one baby does not know how easy they have it!  I followed Killian around playing, snuggling, and making him noodles.  It was a lot of fun to be able to focus my attention on just one child.  I feel like I struggle at times to afford equal amounts of attention to both boys.  I hope this year brings a lot more laughter, happiness, and joy!

He just wanted me to hold him
